READY, STEADY, GO!

We decided to host a sports clinic at Riverside Primary in Robertson on the 1st of November. The clinic consisted of a donation of balls and time from our volunteers. We managed to donate 6 soccer balls, 2 rugby balls, 8 mini netballs, 2 netballs and 2 cricket sets.

Durrel Gibson and Lundel Baatjies helped to coach the rugby and cricket, with Voltaire Engelbrecht coaching the soccer. Abbygail Engelbrecht helped referee the netball matches.

At FCIA, we believe that if we are going to donate items, we need to show the children how to use these correctly and efficiently. To educate a child is to educate a nation. We hope that by spending time with these children, coaching them and showing an interest in them, they will be able to grow to their full potential. This was just the start of many more sports clinics that we have in mind for the future.

A big thank you goes to McDonalds for the sponsorship of cooldrinks. Also a huge thank you to Genee & Glynn Clarke for the rugby balls, Dylan & Nathan Kimbrey for the cricket sets, Durrel Gibson and Voltaire Engelbrecht for the soccer balls, Clyde & Linnith Davids for the netballs and to Melanie Bates for the mini netballs that were so kindly donated for this day. Beryl Skinner donated the hotdogs, chips and sweets for lunch which was a great help and was appreciated by all. Without your help we would not have accomplished what we did!

Thank you to the MBC students who helped with the coaching, your help is much appreciated and is invaluable. May you be abundantly blessed in ways that make sense to you.

We had an absolute blast with these children and look forward to building many more relationships with them in the future!
