PUPPETRY WITH PURPOSE
On Friday 24 July, a group of us went to Koranrug Primary in Darling to do a puppet show. The aim was to teach the children about sustainable gardening and the workshop thereafter allowed the children to grow their own vegetables. We will be returning twice a month to check on the process and to teach them other aspects of gardening.

The main idea is to educate the children with regards to gardening so that they can grow their own vegetables at home in order to assist their families with food. The puppet show rocked! Thanks Tammy (du Plessis) for assisting, you are a natural!

A sports clinic was also conducted with the older children whereby the children learnt different rugby and cricket skills. Louis Delport, Flip Bester and Marius facilitated the workshop and they did a great job!

A special thanks to Sandi, Andy and Sanity Muranda from Khoisan Pictures who filmed this outreach.

BAKING & READING
On Friday 24 July we also visited Skilpadvlei Primary in Moreesburg to donate a stove and baking equipment to the children. We baked and iced cupcakes with them. It was so much fun! Thanks Sandi Muranda and Tammy du Plessis for your ‘Domestic Goddess’ icing skills. The cupcakes were divine once decorated! A big thank you to Rebecca Bryer for donating the stove.

Skilpadvlei has recently obtained a wendy house which is used as a library and they were in need of books to fill it. We donated second hand children’s books to them in order to assist their reading programme. A huge thanks to Bianca Klein who donated the books.

Thanks to Sandi, Andy and Sanity Muranda for filming this outreach – you guys rock!
