Newsletter - February 2008

We have had an interesting and busy month here at FCIA!

In December 2007, Bruce, Tracy, Dylan & Nathan Kimbrey donated a wooden jungle gym to Holvlei Primary in Hopefield. A team of men consisting of our friends and fathers from Holvlei Primary, erected it on Saturday 23 February. It was a hot day, yet the men made short work with putting it up in a record 2 ½ hours. Thank you to all the men who volunteered their skills and tools on this Saturday morning for a good cause, it is much appreciated and a special thank you to the Kimbrey Family who are giving the children at this school some enjoyment in their break times.

Another one of our drives at the beginning of 2008 was to accumulate as much stationery as possible to give to Skilpadvlei Primary in Morreesburg. We were blessed with enough stationery to donate to 3 schools namely Skilpadvlei Primary, Koranrug Primary and Zolani Faith Mission. The teachers, principals and children were ecstatic when they received this donation and on behalf of these schools and FCIA, I would like to extend our outmost gratitude to all friends, family and businesses who contributed towards this. (There are too many to mention individually and I do not want to unintentionally exclude anyone!)

Requests for March 2008:

We will be designing and printing certificates for Koranrug Primary’s school sports day which is to be held on 8 March. Funds are needed for the design work, printing of certificates, engraving of medals and refreshments on that day.

We have a team of knitters who are busy knitting scarves for winter for Welgemoed Primary and Fairfield Primary based in Ceres. Wool is desperately needed or funding to complete this project. The target is 100 scarves to be given to these schools on 2 May. Should you wish to contribute towards this please contact me to find out the wool specifications.

There is also a request for second hand school uniforms, especially grey trousers, skirts and white shirts for children in Grade 1 to Grade 6. Should you like to contribute towards this, please contact me on 083 565 1454.

Here’s looking forward to an exciting March 2008!

Love & Blessings
